2016 Ventura Earth Day Eco Fest on Saturday, April 23rd

The Ventura Earth Day Eco Fest brings fun, live entertainment, children’s activities, exhibitors, and education to Promenade Park in Ventura on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 10am to 5pm. The event is coordinated by the Ventura Charter School of Arts and Global Education (VCS). VCS is a tuition-free public school, organized as a public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, serving 350 students from Kindergarten through Eighth grade. Our school’s progressive, high-quality, student-centered educational program expands educational choices for parents and their children in the public school system, supports a nurturing community of learners, and improves student achievement.

4th Annual Ventura Eco-Extreme Mud Challenge on Saturday, April 23, 2016

The 4th Annual Ventura Eco Xtreme Mud Challenge presented by the Ventura Police Officers Association is planned for Saturday, April 23, 2016 starting at 10:30 am. The goal of this event is to create a fun and challenging adventure while raising money for the Dee Dowell Foundation.

The course, approximately 3 miles of obstacles, steep hills, and mud, will take place in downtown Ventura just above Grant Park at the training grounds for the Ventura Police Department. This location will provide exceptional views of the city and ocean in a unique and natural environment. The course terrain is primarily on trails and fire roads with extreme hills, killer steps, professionally built obstacles and several places where you will get extremely muddy. You will get wet and you will get muddy. Be sure to bring towels and a change of clothing. This event is certain to test both your physical strength and mental toughness!

The Kids 1K is for kids 14 & under and features many of the same obstacles found in the full 5K mud challenge such as the mud pit bottle neck, cargo net climb, and the traverse of death. All registered kids who finish will receive a prize.

Christmas at the Farm at Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark, Nov 27th to Dec 18th

Underwood Family Farms and Big Wave Dave's Christmas Trees* bring Christmas to the Farm.  From November 27 to December 18, fresh cut northwest trees as well as mistletoe, wreaths & all the fixings will be available for sale at the farm. 

On weekends, Underwood's Farm Center & Farm Market Open will be open from 9am - 5pm from the day after Thanksgiving to Sunday, December 13th.  Admission to the Farm Center is $6.00 per person and children under 2 free. Tractor rides and animal show are included with paid weekend admission.

Visits with Santa Claus the weekends of December 5-6 and 12-13 11am to 4pm. 

The Farm Center will be closed for the season beginning on December 14th until they open in the Spring.

4th Annual Cars at the Rock Classic Car Show in Thousand Oaks on Sunday, September 27th

The 4th annual CARS AT THE ROCK classic car show will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at The Rock Community Church and Hillcrest Christian School, 384 Erbes Road, (corner of Erbes and Hillcrest), Thousand Oaks.

Along with a variety of classic cars from pre-1980 and a special interest class, the show will boast a live DJ, children's game booths, face painting.  Visitors can also participate in the hour-long church service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Food trucks, including the popular Grilled Cheese Truck, will be available at this fun, family event.

Art Walk 2015 in Thousand Oaks Planned for the Weekend of June 6th-7th

ArtWalk '15 takes place on Saturday and Sunday, June 6th and 7th from 10 am to 5 pm at The Bank of America Building at Hillcrest and Wilbur Streets in Thousand Oaks.  ArtWalk is a two day, juried, fine arts and designer crafts outdoor exhibition presented by the Conejo Valley Art Museum with the assistance of the Conejo Recreation and Park District. Over 100 artists will have their work on display and for sale.

The museum extends the opportunity for all distinguished artists, designers and crafts persons to exhibit their finest work in this celebrated event. 6th Annual Santa Monica Mountains Science Festival in Agoura on Saturday, April 25th

The 6th Annual Santa Monica Mountains Science Festival, sponsored by the National Park Service in partnership with the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, the Children's Nature Institute, Santa Monica Mountains Fund, UCLA LA Kretz Center for CA Conservation Science, and NatureBridge. will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 10 am to 4 pm at Paramount Ranch.

There are activities for people of all ages, including talks, hands-on demonstrations, nature walks, family activities, live animal displays, and a chance to meet and talk with the scientists. Food vendors will be on site.

Come out and explore the natural and cultural resources within the Santa Monica Mountains and learn about the scientific research that helps us all better understand and protect those resources!
