Annual Ojai Day Event Planned for Saturday, October 19, 2024

Ojai Day is an annual downtown street fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. planned for Saturday, October 19, 2024. Over 100 vendors, local original art and jewelry, dance performances, great food, kids' activities, crafts demonstrations, classic cars, health, wellness and spiritual demonstrations and much more.

The event was originally conceived in 1917, took a hiatus in the 1920’s and has been back with a vengeance since 1993. It’s grown tremendously and has become one of the most popular events in Ojai. The event itself celebrates life, culture and the arts.

Ojai Day was first celebrated in the 1920's after glass magnate Edward Libbey offered to finance the construction of the downtown Arcade, present day Libbey Park and the post office with its 65-foot bell tower. Ojai's most prominent citizens decided to host a city wide celebration to show their appreciation to Libbey. Thus, Ojai Day was born.

The name Ojai comes from the Chumash language and means “The Moon” or “Bird’s Nest.”

2024 Sun Sets Summer Concert Series on Sunday Nights at Calabasas Lake - June to August

Spend your summer Sundays with great live music at the 2024 Summer Sun Sets Concert Series at Calabasas Lake

The traditionally private Calabasas Lake opens its doors to concert goers, providing a scenic backdrop and ample field seating for picnickers. The public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and sweaters. Some fixed seating is available on a first come first served basis. All performances are free to the public.

St. Paschal Baylon Presents Conejo Fall Fest in Thousand Oaks October 18-20, 2024

The annual St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church Fall Fest is planned for Friday through Sunday, October 18-20, 2024 at 155. E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

There will be approximately numerous carnival rides, games, free live entertainment, a variety of food options, boutique, beer garden, “Sweet Shop,” raffle, and more!

150th Anniversary Ventura County Fair to Take Place July 31 to August 11, 2024

The 2024 Ventura County Fair will take place July 31 to August 11 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds, 10 W. Harbor Boulevard in Ventura.

The fair features arts, crafts, food, exhibits, displays, demonstrations, farm animals, petting zoo, carnival rides, games and entertainment. More information at www.VenturaCountyFair.org.

Pre-sale: Ages 13-64 $15/day, Ages 6-12 $10/day, Ages 65+ $10/day, Ages 0-5 free

Regular admission (July 31-August 11): Ages 13-64 $20, Ages 6-12 $15, Ages 65+ $15, Ages 0-5 free

Parking at the Ventura County Fair is $20.00 per car. Parking at the Fairgrounds is limited. Free shuttle buses are provided from the Ventura Government Center, Pacific View Mall, Ventura Community Park, Ventura High School and San Buenaventura State Beach (with parking fee). The fair opens at noon on weekends and opening day and at 1pm on other weekdays. Midway closes no later than midnight and not before 11pm.

  • Friday, August 2 – Youth Day - Visitors ages 12 and under will be admitted free all day with paid adult admission.

  • Monday, August 5 – 805 Day $5 admission before 5pm.

  • Tuesday, August 6 – Seniors & Persons with Disabilities Day - All Ventura County Fair visitors ages 65 or better and disabled persons and one companion will be admitted free all day. Gates will open early at 11am this day only.

  • Thursday, August 8 – Military Appreciation Day and First Responder Day - All military with current, valid ID and first responders admitted free.

  • Friday, August 9 - Food Share Day

Carnival Wristband Days will be August 1, 6 and 7. $45 for ride wristbands that can be used until 7pm these days.

The Collection at Riverpark in Oxnard is hosting its Rock the Collection Free Concert Series this year on designated Thursday nights, 6:30-8PM at Collection Park. The series will feature everyone’s favorite rock and pop classics performed by popular tribute bands.

2024 Surf Rodeo Music & Surf Festival in Ventura on July 5-6

Surf Rodeo will take place on Friday/Saturday, July 5-6, 2024 at Surfer’s Point in Ventura.

Featuring over 30 bands, a surf rodeo competition, a bikini cowgirl and bikini cowboy contest, cornhole tournament, skateboard demos, over 70 vendors, and more. Hours are 2-10pm on Friday and noon to 10pm on Saturday.

2024 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular and Other Fun Events in Thousand Oaks

The 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, coordinated by the Conejo Recreation and Park District, The City of Thousand Oaks and other local sponsors, takes place on the hill behind the Hillcrest Center of the Arts in Thousand Oaks. Fireworks start at 9 p.m., with a great view from Janss Marketplace and The Oaks mall parking lots and surrounding areas!  Patriotic music simulcast by KHAY 100.7 FM.
