Summer Car Show in Downtown Oxnard on Sunday, July 21, 2024

The Summer Classic Car Show, co-hosted by the Downtown Oxnard Improvement Association and the All-for-One Car Club, is planned for Sunday, July 21, 2024 in Downtown Oxnard. Over 400 classic and specialty autos from all eras will be on display along a four-block stretch of Historic “A” Street in Downtown Oxnard. The event is free to the viewing public.

In addition to awesome autos on display, there will be live entertainment, and Downtown merchants will be offering food specials. Plenty of free parking will be available on adjacent streets, public lots and the 3rd Street Parking Structure.

$30 advance registration for show cars required. Professional judging with prizes in many categories. Proceeds benefit the Historic Downtown Oxnard Beautification Fund.

37th Annual A Taste of Camarillo Wine, Brew and Food Festival on July 28, 2024

A Taste of Camarillo - Wine, Brew & Food Festival will take place on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at the Camarillo Ranch, 201 Camarillo Ranch Road, Camarillo, from noon to 4:30 pm.

This is perhaps the longest running wine, brew and food festival in Ventura County. Guests spend an afternoon sampling fine wines, craft beers and gourmet foods on the grounds of the historic Camarillo Ranch. Sample fine and wines and local restaurants, live music and dancing, boutique shopping and more. 21+ only event. No children or pets allowed.

Santa to the Sea Half Marathon, Quarter Marathon and 5K in Oxnard on Sunday, December 8, 2024

The Santa to the Sea Half Marathon, Quarter Marathon and 5K is planned for Sunday, December 8, 2024

The half marathon begins at the giant Santa located at 2801 Ventura Blvd., Oxnard and ends at Marine Emporium Landing in the Channel Islands Harbor. The half marathon and 5K start at 7:30am and the quarter marathon starts at 7:50am. There’s also a Kids 1K at 8:30am.

This point to point course starts at the historic Santa Claus, off the 101 freeway, runs through Oxnard’s famous strawberry fields, then through downtown Oxnard and beautiful Plaza Park. Next will be historic Candy Cane Lane, where the homes are decorated for the holidays. Finally, you’re off to the Pacific Ocean, the beach, and finishing at the Marine Emporium Landing in the Channel Islands Harbor.

Santa to the Sea supports the Nyeland Acres community through food distributions, a toy giveaway, and scholarships to Oxnard College.

The Thanksgiving Day 5K takes place at Rancho Simi Community Park, 1765 Royal Avenue, Simi Valley on Thursday, November 28, 2024.

Run along the Arroyo bike path, lined with beautiful trees for shade through the center of Simi Valley and along the Arroyo Creek. Aid stations every 1.5 miles. Race starts at 8am. This is a rain or shine event.

Sea Center Celebrates World Oceans Day with Free Admission

Sea Center on Stearns Wharf Celebrates World Oceans Day

Come celebrate World Oceans Day at the Sea Center on Stearns Wharf during a festival from 10:00 AM–3:00 PM on Saturday, June 8, 2024. Free admission from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM will be made possible with the generous support of the UCSB Associated Students Coastal Fund and the Stearns Wharf Merchants Association.

During the festival, guests can meet an array of community partners dedicated to ocean conservation and celebration, including Santa Barbara Channelkeeper, California State Parks, UCSB's Caselle Lab, The Fish Reef Project, Channel Islands Naturalist Corps, Channel Islands Marine and Wildlife Institute, Santa Barbara Channel Whale Heritage Area, Channel Islands Restoration, and Celebration Cruises, who will be raffling off a Lil’ Toot trip package at their table.

The Sea Center features life-size models of a Gray Whale mother and calf, touchpool habitats where guests can touch sea stars and sea anemones, a Wet Deck modeled after a scientific research vessel’s lab, and Shark Cove, where visitors can get up close with small local sharks. In addition to exploring the Sea Center’s interactive exhibits, guests can enjoy storytimes, meeting the Sea Center's very own Toothy the Shark, an announcement of the winners of a marine-themed student art contest, and a display by the Harbor Patrol’s fireboat.

38th Annual Sespe Creek 4th of July Car Show in Fillmore on Thursday, July 4, 2024

Celebrate America's Birthday at the Stagecoach Inn Museum Newbury Park on Wednesday, July 3, 2024

America's 248th birthday is Thursday, July 4, 2024, but the Stagecoach Inn invites you to a fun celebration with children’s old-time games, crafts, music, prizes and more on Wednesday, July 3rd from 1 to 4PM in celebration of Independence Day and the historical opening of the Grand Union Hotel (aka Stagecoach Inn) in July 1876!

Enjoy free ice cream (while supplies last), craft making and live music while cooling your heels exploring the museum complex both indoors and out.

Visit Timber School and recite the Pledge of Allegiance with children rewarded with a prize, and then follow the dusty trail to Pioneer House and children who can identify one or more traditional 4th of July foods will also win something to take home.

Costumed docents will be demonstrating tools, machinery, gadgets and various “modern conveniences” that households and businesses enjoyed in the mid-late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Some of the items that may be demonstrated include a sausage stuffer, butter churner, miniature sewing machine for travel, iron and laundry equipment, woodworking tools and working blacksmith forge.

“Can you Spot” items will be placed around the property for the kids to find!

Experience what life was like in the early days of the Conejo Valley. Several exhibits are augmented with QR code signage, offering “Virtual Tour” video enhancements via your smart phone.

The Stagecoach Inn Museum welcomes visitors on Wednesdays & Saturdays from 1:00-4:00 pm. Regular admission is $10 per person; $5 for children 5 to 12, children under 5 and Conejo Valley Historical Society Members (with Membership card) are free.

Boney Mountain Trail Half Marathon & 7K in Thousand Oaks on Saturday, September 21, 2024

The Boney Mountain Trail Half Marathon and 7K was originally planned for Saturday, February 10, 2024 but has been rescheduled to September 21, 2024 due to storms. The race takes place in Point Mugu State Park, starting at Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa in Newbury Park. Challenging, single track, switchback climbs and descents, creek crossings and climb up the Old Boney trail.

Moorpark Groundhog Day 5K and 1 Mile Run on Saturday, February 1, 2025

The Moorpark Groundhog Day 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run is planned for Saturday, February 1, 2025. Event proceeds benefit Moorpark High School’s cross country and track programs. All ages and abilities are welcome. All ages and abilities are welcome.  All participants age 11 and under who complete the 5k will received a finisher medal.  There will also be a “Catch the Groundhog” 1 mile fun run for kids 11 and under which will be held on the track with finisher medals for all.

Post-race festivities include the awards ceremony with age group medals plus refreshments, vendors and a raffle of wonderful prizes donated by local businesses.

Moorpark High School is located at 4500 Tierra Rejada Road, Moorpark. There will be plenty of free parking close to the race start.
