Conejo Recreation and Park District Youth Organizations Will Benefit

Arts and teen programs will benefit from a major monetary donation.  Janss Marrketplace management presented a $1,5000 check yesterday to representatives from the Conejo Recreation and Park District (CRPD) in a ceremony held at the shopping center, located at located at 215 North Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks.

The shopping center raised the money at the Janss Marketplace annual Reign of Terror Haunted House in just 10 days from entrance fees at the October event. The Reign of Terror, which ranks as one of the top 10 Haunted Houses in the U.S., also provides Janss Marketplace with the opportunity to donate much needed funds to community programs.  

The donation will benefit two organizations:

  •  The Young Artists Ensemble’s Conejo Theatre for Everyone program provides opportunity for special needs youths to perform in an annual fully-produced play or musical that draws high community attendance.  The donation from Janss Marketplace will help cover financial aid for low income participants and pay for performance expenses.
  • The Thousand Oaks Teen Center is operated through the cooperative efforts of the Conejo Recreation and Park District and the City of Thousand Oaks. The program benefits teens by providing a full service activity center and recreational programs.  The Janss Marketplace donation will assist in purchase of an electronic marquee.
