Poke Tiki at Janss Marketplace closed its doors on April 19th, just under two years from the day it opened. Previously in that space was Salad Gourmet from 2013 to 2016 and before that, it was Burger King.
The sign on the door says “there will be new and exciting things coming.” The Janss website indicates an eatery called "Matcha" is coming to the Marketplace. We shall see.
Five hours ago, the following message was posted to The Grill by Green Acres Facebook Page, much to the disappointment of hundreds of local residents:
“Regretfully, after only one year, The Grill by Green Acres will be closing its doors on Sunday, April 28th. We are very grateful to our employees and customers who have supported us during this year and we hope to see you one last time. It is very difficult to express the heartache and sadness that we are going through.
Green Acres Farm Market and Catering has served the community of Simi Valley for 50 years and will continue to operate as usual.
Any gift cards from The Grill by Green Acres will be honored at Green Acres Farm Market and Catering.
Thank you very much for your patronage, your encouragement, and your friendship.
As noted, this will not impact the Green Acres Farm Market and Catering.
Well that was quick. Go Greek Yogurteria, which opened at The Oaks shopping mall in June 2018, has closed its doors. And we were JUST there. For those who did check them out and enjoyed them, you’ll now have to drive to Woodland Hills, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills or The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas to enjoy their product. www.gogreekyogurt.com/ (Thanks to Ani S for the heads up via the CVG Facebook Page.)
What’s next for this spot in the outdoor shops section of The Oaks, near Dick’s Sporting Goods? I don’t know, but we shall see.

After operating in the Northgate Plaza at the southwest corner of Westlake and Thousand Oaks Boulevards, for approximately 14 months, Maya Mexican Cuisine, as reported by Amelia S via the CVG Facebook Page, has closed its doors.
What’s next? Well, it is for lease. Previous occupants have included Cut 360 Steakhouse and Churrascaria, The Napa Tavern and Piatti Ristorante & Bar.

Conejo Valley Guide Facebook Follower Ani S reports that very recently, there is a new owner/occupant of what used to be Darband Grill at 868 E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard, Thousand Oaks. Sadaf Restaurant is now operating there, serving up Persian cuisine.
Sadaf, which has operated a location in Encino for a number of years, offers “modern Persian cuisine” made with 100% olive and vegetable oils, using no preservatives or additives.

It is with sadness that we report that the Great Harvest Bread Co. located at 2092-H Newbury Road in Newbury Park (Smart & Final/CVS shopping center) will be closing its doors on Saturday, March 2, 2019 after 15 years serving the local community.
On their website at conejobread.com, the owners indicate that their lease is up and for many personal reasons, they will be closing.
Burgerim located at the corner of Ventu Park Road and Hillcrest Drive has been closed several months.
This location is showing as “closed for relocation” on the Burgerim website .
It originally opened in March 2017.
Other locations currently open in Simi Valley, Camarillo and Ventura.
Up until very recently this was a Haagen Dazs scoop shop at The Oaks.
Might be time to sell short sugar futures, as Cinnabon and Haagen Dazs at The Oaks shopping mall in Thousand Oaks recently closed their doors.
