The Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College, 7075 Campus Road, Moorpark, turns wildly spooktacular the weekends of October 19-20 and 26-27, 2024 from 11am to 4:30pm for “Boo at the Zoo,” the annual Halloween-themed event that features animal shows, trick or treating, kids’ scavenger hunt, food trucks, free kids’ crafts and more.
For the family-fun event, the Zoo will be draped in decorations, and people of all ages can closely view the more than 100 animals cared for at the Zoo.
Admission is $12 for ages 12-16, $10 for ages 2-12 and $10 for seniors (65+). Kids ages 2 and under are admitted free. Tickets available at zoo.moorparkcollege.edu/boo-at-the-zoo.
The Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College is the only zoo in Ventura County and is the home of the Exotic Animal Training and Management Program, which started in 1971. The program offers preparation for those interested in entering the expanding animal care industry. The students study zoo keeping, basic medical care, wildlife education and training using positive reinforcement methods.
On Saturday, October 26th, The Downtown Oxnard Improvement Association will present “Halloween Haunt in the Park.” The kid-friendly thrills occur all evening from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Plaza Park in Downtown Oxnard. Event will feature Trick-or-Treat Village, with booths created by local organizations, bounce houses, face painting, crafts, games, music and more. Costume contest starts at 5:30pm.

The annual "Pumpkin Party" at the Leonis Adobe Museum is planned for Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. Enjoy live music, demonstrations, hands on crafts and more! Costumes admired but not required.

The Camarillo Police Department announces its second annual Trunk or Treat event for Halloween at the Camarillo Police Station. This year’s event will be held on Monday, 10/28/2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Several community partners will adorn their cars in Halloween decorations and pass out candy to kids as they walk by. This is a free, family friendly event that is appropriate for all ages.
First responders will be present to hand out candy and stickers. There will be several police resources and vehicles on display including an armored vehicle, police car, police motorcycle, sheriff’s K9, sheriff’s off-road vehicle, an ambulance and a Ventura County Fire Engine.

The City of Malibu Community Services Department presents the Bu Bash Halloween Carnival Spooktacular on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 2PM to sunset at Malibu Bluffs Park. More than 15 Ventura County farms, ranches and agricultural organizations will open their doors to the public to experience a day of free agricultural activities and tours during the 11th Annual Ventura County Farm Day, Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The day includes behind-the-scenes tours, tractor-with-trailer rides, tastings, giveaways and kid-friendly activities. Farm Day allows the public to meet local farmers who grow the food we eat.
