Father's Day Car Show at Channel Islands Harbor on Sunday, June 16, 2024

The Father’s Day Car Show at Channel Islands Harbor on Sunday, June 16, 2024 from 10 am to 3 pm will feature an eclectic mix of custom cars, hot rods, low riders, motorcycles and classics. It is the perfect day to show off your rides and reconnect with friends and family. Also on hand will be food trucks, raffle, music and numerous vendors.

Proceeds for the event will benefit Food Share of Ventura County.

This car show is open to all solo riders, car clubs and all vehicle types, including motorcycles.

In addition to the car show at Harbor View Park on Father’s Day, the Channel Islands Maritime Museum will also be hosting a Father’s Day Celebration event, which will feature classic cars and boats.

2024 Boogie Nights Summer Run Series in Ventura May 22 to July 24

The Boogie Nights Summer Run Series is back for a 10 week run in 2024 on Wednesday nights from May 22nd through July 24th, starting at 6:30 pm. 5K start/finish is at San Buenaventura State Beach, 901 San Pedro St, Ventura. Free kids run starts at 6 pm.

Chip timing, light snacks after the run, a t-shirt for those that register for the series and flat course along the Ventura Promenade. Cost is less than $20 per race or $120 for the entire 10 week series, including t-shirt.

Nite Moves Run, Swim, Duathlon Series in Santa Barbara May 22 to Aug 28, 2024

The annual Nite Moves - Swimming, Running & Biathlon events take place every Wednesday evening at Leadbetter Beach Park, 801 Shoreline Road, Santa Barbara from May 22 through August 28, 2024. Onsite registration begins at 5:15 pm. Swim starts at 6:25 pm; run at 6:35 pm.

Ocean conditions vary...Many brave this distance without a suit...Great workout for getting swim experience in a crowd as we usually have a 100 swimmers at the starting line...5K footraces begin at the east end of Shoreline. Out and back course with majestic views of the Santa Ynez Mountains circling Santa Barbara, race back and view Stearns Wharf, finishing at Leadbetter Beach Park.

2024 Ojai Valley Century Bike Ride on Saturday, June 1st

The 2024 Ojai Valley Century bike ride is planned for Saturday, June 1st. The ride has five scenic routes: metric century (63 miles), full century (101 miles), double metric century (134 miles), hammerhead century (102 miles) and half metric century (31 miles).

All routes include tours out of Ojai, past Casitas Lake and up over the double Casitas Pass, a fast ride down the other side into Carpinteria and back down the coast to Ventura. Post race BBQ included! More information at www.ojaivalleycentury.org.

Kids' Swap Meet at Thousand Oaks Community Center on Saturday, April 13, 2024

The Conejo Recreation & Park District’s Kids' Swap Meet is back on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 8:00am to 12:00 noon at the Thousand Oaks Community Center, 2525 N. Moorpark Rd. Thousand Oaks.

Kids can earn some money and become young entrepreneurs by selling toys, supplies and equipment they no longer need or use, during this family swap meet featuring local families as the vendors. Parents and kids can reserve an 8 x 8 spot to sell children's old toys, clothes, games, and furniture.

The Kids Swap Meet is a great shopping opportunity for parents, teachers, and day care professionals! Admission to shop at the Kids Swap Meet is always FREE.

Memorial Day Event at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley on May 27, 2024

Visit the Reagan Library this Memorial Day to honor the fallen men and women who served in the United States Military. The program will include live musical entertainment by harpist Thomas Baker, a flyover by the Tiger Squadron (weather permitting), a Color Guard, an Invocation by Naval Base Ventura County Command Chaplain Aristotle Rivera, and the following speakers:

This event will be held outdoors by the Reagan Library’s Gold Star Family Memorial. All Memorial Day programming is free to attend.  Admission rates apply to view the Reagan Museum, Air Force One Pavilion, and the library’s latest exhibit, Defending America & The Galaxy: Star Wars and SDI.

Once the main parking lot is full, guests will be directed to park on Presidential Drive. Complimentary shuttles will be running to bring guests to the Reagan Library.

The 36th Annual Ojai Wine Festival is the longest running wine festival in Ventura County. Annual Huck Finn Fishin' Derby at Rancho Simi Community Park on April 27, 2024

The Annual Huck Finn Fishin’ Derby is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Rancho Simi Community Park, 1765 Royal Avenue, Simi Valley from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.. Little ones will be hooked on fishing fun while scanning the water for the biggest and best fish to catch. The derby will be held along the banks of the two-and-one-half acre lake at Rancho Simi Community Park. Parents are advised to bring their children to the lake as early as possible to ensure a great spot. For safety reasons, no spinners/lures allowed. The lagoon will be stocked with over 1,500 pounds of fish before the event.

2024 Conejo Recreation & Park District Summer Concerts in the Park - May through September

The 2021 concert series will NOT look like this concert a couple years ago. This year’s concert series will be socially distanced and will require advance ticket purchases.

Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and picnics, then sit back and relax to the sounds of summer! The Conejo Recreation & Park District Summer Concerts in the Park is back again in 2024.

Jackets or sweaters are recommended as the weather often cools during the latter part of the event. Concert-goers are asked to leave pets at home. Concerts are FREE and open to the public.

Location: Conejo Community Park, 1175 Hendrix Avenue, Thousand Oaks
(off Gainsborough Road, at the intersection of Dover and Hendrix Avenues)

Time: All concerts begin promptly at 5:00pm and conclude at 7:00pm. Parking is offsite only; onsite parking is limited and reserved for cars with handicap placards.

2024 Camarillo Community Band Summer Concerts in the Park on Thursdays, July 11 to August 1

The Camarillo Community Band's 2024 Summer Concert Series is planned at Constitution Park, Carmen Drive at Paseo Camarillo on July 11, 18, 25 and August 1.

Performances will start at 7:00pm (and end at approximately 8:30 pm). Free admission. Bring chairs, blankets and picnic dinners while enjoying the show.

Additionally, the band will perform in the Memorial Day service at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park at 11am on May 27, 2023.
