Posted 7/28/15: Painting with a Twist looks to be opening soon at 2298 E. Ventura Boulevard in Old Town Camarillo (at the intersection of Arneill), next to the El Rey Cantina.

Painting with a Twist provides customers with paint, a canvas and brushes that lead to a fun evening with friends and a finished piece of art.  And yes, you receive professional instruction to create your work of art as well as access to wine.

Grand Opening of Disney Store at The Oaks Mall Thousand Oaks on Saturday, July 25th

Melissa W of Thousand Oaks gave us the heads up that the grand opening of the Disney Store at The Oaks shopping mall in Thousand Oaks is on Saturday, July 25th. Lassens Thousand Oaks Confirms It Will Be Moving To The Lakes at Thousand Oaks

Final Update 3/11/15: Lassens is now open at The Lakes at Thousand Oaks.

Update 12/30/14: It has been 9 months since the initial update on Lassens Thousand Oaks moving to The Lakes at Thousand Oaks. They indicate they will be coming in "early 2015." Stay tuned.

It is now completely official that the Thousand Oaks location of Lassens Natural Foods & Vitamins, currently located at 2857 E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard (at Skyline) to The Lakes at Thousand Oaks "soon" according to The Lakes' website. Lassens will be occupying the space recently vacated by Claim Jumper.

Lassens was founded in 1971 by Hilmar and Oda Lassen with their first store in Camarillo and has expanded over the years to nine stores, including Ventura County locations in Oxnard, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks and Ventura. 

On its Facebook page, Lassens noted "We are excited to be moving to the new location in order to provide a better shopping experience and more parking options. We hope that you will come and check it out."

Specific timing of the move has not been announced but stay tuned...

Sprinkles Ice Cream and Cookies Coming to The Promenade at Westlake

Sprinkles Cupcakes Westlake Villageannounced on its Facebook page that the reason its current store at The Promenade at Westlake is closed is that it is re-opening this Friday, December 5th, at a larger location a few doors down (at the former home of Menchies Frozen Yogurt, which closed several months ago). 2019 Update: The Best Halloween Store Ever has been located for the past several years at Janss Marketplace. This location is now the Tarantula Hill Brewing Company.

The Best Halloween Store Ever is opening its new seasonal location this year at old Plummer's Furniture building, 244 E Thousand Oaks Boulevard, Thousand Oaks. The retail space is more than double the size of its previous seasonal location at the old El Torito building, which was torn down and became a new Chick-fil-A this past May.

No doubt the owners of this store will continue in their quest to present some of the most terrifying, gruesome, not-for-faint-of-heart displays along with lots of fun for all ages, while presenting a large assortment of costumes and accessories to complete any costume. Additional tenants since the last update include Which Wich® Superior Sandwiches, Bowl of Heaven Acai Bowls, Kirk Jewelers, The Gallery (a gourmet restaurant specializing in fresh seafood, chops and oysters) and Figueroa Mountain Brewing as well as a Sports Clips. Target is planning to open on Sunday, July 27th.

A few months ago we noted that the 240,000 sq ft Shoppes at Westlake Village development would be home to a new Target store, In N Out Burger and Total Woman Gym & Spa in the summer of 2014.

This is pretty sweet, both literally and figuratively! Today The Promenade at Westlake announced that See's Candies will be opening soon, adding to the sugar mix that includes Sprinkles Cupcakes that opened on October 30, 2013 and Menchie's Frozen Yogurt.

Specific date not available as of yet. See's Candies Westlake Village will join other local See's locations at The Oaks Mall, Pacific View Mall in Ventura and Sycamore Square Shopping Center here in the Ventura County area.
