Fusion Grill to Open This Fall at the Oakbrook Plaza in Thousand Oaks

Update 11/18/16: Fusion Grill is now open at its new location in Thousand Oaks.

About a month ago I spoke with the owner of Fusion Grill in Newbury Park about the status of it opening a Thousand Oaks location at the Oakbrook Plaza (Avenida de los Arboles and Erbes Road) in the space previously occupied by Chang 101 (and prior to that, Chen's Szechwan Restaurant, which closed in September 2008 for you local history buffs).

The response was that they would actually be relocating from Newbury Park to this larger location in Thousand Oaks and that it would be happening in the Fall 2016 time frame; possibly as early as late October.

Fusion Grill serves "contemporary, eclectic Italian, French and Asian cuisine and has rave reviews in Yelp.

Casa Escobar to Close Westlake Village Location September 10th; New Conejo Valley Location To Be Announced

Casa Escobar has operated at 2809 Agoura Road in Westlake Village for 6 years. The owners have announced they will be closing this location on September 10th but to "keep checking back for info on our new location in the Conejo Valley."

Casa Escobar, a family-run tradition since the first Casa Escobar opened in 1946, also operates a location at 22969 Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu (directly across the street from the Malibu Pier).

Boney Mountain Tavern Premieres at Former Magoo's Sports Grill Location in Newbury Park

The new sign came up last night - Boney Mountain Tavern is premiering at the former Magoo's Sports Grill, 722 N. Wendy Drive, Newbury Park. Featuring 32 beers on tap, a full bar and a full menu. Grand opening specials September 1-9, including drink specials, raffles, giveaways, games and more.

Newbury Park Starbucks to Relocate to a New Drive Thru Location on July 14th

The Starbucks at 587 N. Ventura Park Road in Newbury Park (in the Ralphs plaza) will be closing on July 10th but will be re-opening across the street at 540 N. Ventu Park Road in the Thousand Oaks Marketplace, where Walgreens and Walmart Neighborhood Market reside on July 14th.

The new Starbucks drive thru will be opening on July 14th. Start your engines.

For those that can't go a day without their Starbucks, the sign on the door tells customers to visit the nearby location at Newbury & Kelly (in the Kohl's Plaza).

It seems like just yesterday that the Starbucks near Home Depot in Newbury Park moved across the parking lot at The Village at Newbury Park to a drive thru location. That actually took place on January 18, 2013, nearly 3 1/2 years ago!

What will take the place of the vacated Starbucks? No idea at this point.
