The Annex at The Collection at RiverPark

The Annex is a 16,000 sq ft collection of microshops, boutiques and eateries that will be located at the southeast corner of Collection Boulevard and Parkview Court at The Collection at RiverPark.

As of June 2017, shops and eateries to occupy The Annex include:

• Cherry Hills Market - Retail shop will sell a variety of premium hand crafted home goods.

• Sueno Jewelry Studio - handmade and custom jewelry

• Scratch will be opening its first brick and Mortar location here, serving seasonal meats, cheeses and product for breakfast, lunch and dinner. NO LONGER THERE

• Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters, which originated in Newbury Park, will open a location here.

• Love Pho Cafe will be opening a location here.

• Bottle & Pint, yet another Newbury Park original will open its second location here, with crafts beers from around the world.

• Afters Ice Cream is home of the "milky bun." Handmade ice cream sandwiches on soft, doughnut-like buns.

• The Blend Superfood Bar will offer smoothies and acai bowls.

Petco Coming to Janss Marketplace in the Fall of 2017

We recently learned that Petco will be opening later this year, probably in the fall time frame, at Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks. It will be on the east side of the mall, next to the ULTA Beauty that is anticipated to open in the same time frame. 

The old Rite Aid space will be renovated for these new businesses.

County of Ventura Food Facility Closures in May 2017

The County of Ventura Environmental Health Division (EHD) protects public health and the environment by ensuring conformance with State laws and County ordinances pertaining to food protection, hazardous materials, hazardous waste, individual sewage disposal systems, land use, medical waste, ocean water quality monitoring, recreational health, solid waste, underground fuel tanks and vector control.

The following facility closures were noted in May 2017. Keep in mind when reviewing this that there are many possible reasons for the closures, most of which are very temporary issues.

WaBa Grill Opened Today on Rose Avenue in Oxnard

WaBa Grill opened its second Oxnard location and 4th Ventura County location overall today at 2721 S. Rose Avenue, #A107.

WaBa Grill serves plates with boneless chicken, rib-eye steak ribs, salmon and shrimp along with a side of salad and seasonal fruit, as well as rice bowls. Veggie plates/bowls also available.

Pickleball Courts Coming to Tierra Rejada Park in Moorpark This Summer

The Moorpark City Council recently approved the installation of three pickleball courts at Tierra Rejada Park, 11900 Mountain Trail St, Moorpark. The courts will replace on tennis court at the park and will be installed sometime in the summer of 2017.

When completed, the Moorpark pickleball courts will join courts in Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Port Hueneme and Oak Park.

Shawarma Eatery Coming to Former Home of L & L Hawaiian Barbecue at Janss Marketplace

L & L Hawaiian Barbecue at Janss Marketplace closed its doors in April. But there's a new Mediterranean eatery coming to town. This was confirmed by Amelia A. via the CVG Facebook Page and Kira K. via email with this notice that Shawarma King appears to be the new tenant coming to this space. Stay tuned. (UPDATE: The new eatery will be called AZ Grill.)

Thousand Oaks Acorn Notes That Dave & Buster's Has Signed Lease for Thousand Oaks Location

The Thousand Oaks Acorn has indicated that Dave & Buster's has signed a lease to occupy what previously was The Sports Authority on Hillcrest Drive. Great news for those looking for more things to do in the Conejo Valley! No word on timing or details at this point.
