New Friday Afternoon Farmers' Market at Simi Valley Town Center to Premiere on March 11th

The Simi Valley Town Center is bringing back a farmers’ market on Fridays from 4-8pm, beginning March 11, 2022. Will feature food from local farms and vendors, entertainment, beer/wine/cider tasting and crafts.

Simi Valley also has a farmers’ market from 11am to 3:30pm on Fridays at the Simi Valley Civic Center Plaza at 2757 Tapo Canyon Road.

Hummus Lali Opening February 27th at The Shoppes at Westlake Village (NOW OPEN)

UPDATE: Now open in “soft opening” mode. Official “grand opening” is still Feb 27th.

Hummus Lali is opening later this month at The Shoppes at Westlake Village in the spot previously occupied by Urban Vejjie and Greens Up, serving quick-serve Mediterranean food, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.

Zankou Chicken Coming Soon to Thousand Oaks (February 10, 2023)

UPDATE: Zankou Chicken Thousand Oaks opened February 10, 2023.

CVG Facebook Page follower Nick A sent over this photo of Zankou Chicken “coming soon!” to the space previously occupied by Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (closed in June 2020) at 487 North Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks. Zankou Chicken serves rotisserie chicken, tri tip shawerma, Chicken Tarna (similar to shawarma) kabobs and more.

Five Threads Brewing Company Announces it Will Be Closing Its Doors After January 30th

Sad to report that after 6 years in business, Five Threads Brewing Company in Westlake Village will be closing after the last beer is served this Sunday, January 30th. The owners indicate "we have not been able to scale up our sales fast enough to cover rising expenses and we find ourselves at the end of our funds." More info at fivethreadsbrewingco.com.

UPDATE JULY 2022: The Tiki Taco sign has long been gone and there are no updates at this time.

Meggan spotted this Tiki Taco "coming soon" sign up above the former Draughts Restaurant & Bar in the Best Buy Plaza in Thousand Oaks. I was unable to find any other information about Tiki Taco. Meanwhile, Amy's Drive Thru (organic, vegetarian food) will be constructed across the way.

Regency Westlake Village Twin Theater is Closing Its Doors After 23 Years in Business

Regency Westlake Village Twin announced via Facebook yesterday that its final day of operation is Monday, January 17th. It has operated for 23 years. Sad to see a small boutique theater like this close its doors. Let’s see what’s next for this location at 4711 Lakeview Canyon Road, Westlake Village in the County Line Shopping Center.
